Inspired by the famous 11th-century Bayeux Tapestry, this design depicts the Normans constructing Hastings Castle in 1066. Brought across the Channel in prefabricated sections, this early motte-and-bailey castle was essentially England’s first Norman flat-pack castle! Built shortly after William the Conqueror landed, it marked the beginning of a new era of castle building that would transform England's landscape for centuries to come. A little piece of medieval history, with a rather modern twist.
